College staff misconduct · Accused: residence hall director
A federal Title IX lawsuit alleges that in August 2024 an Alabama A&M residence hall director forced sexual contact on a resident assistant he supervised while pretending to inspect rooms, and that the university rehired him in 2022 despite a prior separation over alleged sexual misconduct.
Status: The staff member was charged with sexual misconduct, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of misdemeanor harassment in October 2024 and was sentenced to two years' probation. The Title IX suit filed against the university's board of trustees in July 2026 is pending and its allegations are unproven.
Response: The university had not responded to the lawsuit in court as of August 2026.
