College staff misconduct · Accused: former professor (lab supervisor of a high school student)

Years of abuse: before 2018

A long-time UC Davis professor was accused in a 2018 civil lawsuit of raping a high school student who had worked in his lab; the alleged incidents occurred off campus.

Status: Alleged in a 2018 civil lawsuit; UC Davis Title IX office found he sexually assaulted the student. No criminal charges reported.

Response: Placed on leave in 2021 and dismissed by the UC Board of Regents in January 2023.
