Four former female students sued Whittier College alleging a professor who headed their department sexually abused, harassed, assaulted and battered them, and that college leaders concealed his misconduct for at least a decade despite many student complaints, promoting him in 2014 before letting him resign in 2016. The case settled in 2023.
