Five students reported being drugged at University Hill parties around October 18, 2018 (two hospitalized), and assault allegations arose at the Sigma Pi house the same night.
Status: Boulder police investigation; no arrests and police said Sigma Pi was not a suspect in the drugging at the time (Nov 2018).
Response: Sigma Pi national headquarters ordered the chapter closed.
A chemical engineering professor faced allegations spanning more than two decades of unwanted sexual advances toward students, including a former research assistant who alleged harassment and coerced intercourse from 1994 to 1997.
Status: Found in 1992 to have violated the campus sexual harassment policy; teaching and advising privileges removed in 2001; former research assistant's harassment claims alleged in a civil lawsuit.
Response: CU Board of Regents unanimously fired him in April 2004.
