College staff misconduct · Accused: medical school professor/residential college fellow; law professor (harassment)
An independent report Yale released in August 2019 found that a longtime School of Medicine psychiatry professor and residential-college fellow sexually assaulted at least five male undergraduates (1994 and 2010-2017, mostly at a St. Kitts research facility), subjected others to inappropriate exams, and harassed more students and one high-school student. It found Yale's 1994 inquiry was ad hoc and that monitoring failed systemically. Separately, Yale suspended a law professor in 2020 for sexually harassing students.
Status: professor retired/left 2018, barred from campus; law professor suspended 2 years (2020)
Response: report: systemic failure to monitor after 1994 complaints; promised restrictions not enforced
