Hazing · Sigma Alpha Epsilon

A student was hospitalized with an alcohol-related illness after a suspected hazing event at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house in Milledgeville in November 2021.

Status: Eight people were arrested in December 2021 on misdemeanor charges of furnishing alcohol to minors; one also faces a misdemeanor hazing charge. Police said more charges were possible.

Response: The college suspended the fraternity, asked Milledgeville police to take over the case and considered internal discipline for students.
