College staff misconduct · Accused: former residence-life administrator; former professor
In 2019 a Morehouse student publicly accused an interim director of housing and residential education of sexual assault, saying the Title IX office did not act on his complaint; separately, a former student sued alleging a now-fired professor sexually assaulted him and that the college knew for more than two years while the professor allegedly assaulted others.
Status: Allegations made publicly and in a civil lawsuit (filed 2018); the college denied the lawsuit's allegations in court. Atlanta police said they were not actively investigating at the time.
Response: Morehouse placed the housing administrator on unpaid leave, opened a formal investigation and expanded its sexual misconduct investigation to cover new complaints; the professor named in the lawsuit had been fired.
