Sexual assault · Unnamed off-campus fraternities
Two former K-State students alleged in 2016 federal Title IX lawsuits that they were raped in connection with off-campus fraternity events: one said she was assaulted at a fraternity house in March 2015 while blacked out from intoxication, and the other said she was raped in a truck while other students watched and filmed after a fraternity event, as well as at a fraternity house.
Status: Alleged in federal lawsuits; prosecutors declined charges in one case and had not decided in the other. The women agreed in November 2019 to dismiss their consolidated cases with no payment from the university.
Response: The lawsuits alleged K-State refused to act because the assaults occurred off campus; K-State said its response was appropriate and paid no compensation.
