College staff misconduct · Accused: former sociology professor

Years of abuse: 2016-2017

A student told Washburn's student newspaper in January 2017 that a sociology professor of about 13 years invited her to his home for private reading sessions and met her in his office for sexual relations; another student said others had also been involved with him.

Status: Alleged by students in campus media reports; no criminal charges or findings reported.

Response: The professor resigned after the allegations spread; Washburn declined to discuss the personnel matter.
