College staff misconduct · Accused: former assistant professor

Years of abuse: 2012

A student complained in 2012 that an EKU assistant professor sent her sexually explicit emails; a university review found he had sent more than 25 such emails from university and personal accounts.

Status: EKU's Equal Opportunity Office found he behaved inappropriately and violated the harassment policy; he resigned and later taught elsewhere. No criminal charges were reported.

Response: Recommended discipline short of termination; the professor resigned.
