A former pledge told Bloomberg News that Salisbury University's Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledges were beaten with paddles, locked in a basement and forced to drink until passing out in spring 2012.

Status: Reported to city police; no criminal charges were filed.

Response: University suspended the chapter in 2012 and barred it from recruiting until spring 2015.
