College staff misconduct · Accused: police academy instructors (four)
Female recruits at the Macomb Community College Police Academy complained in 2019 of unwanted comments and touching by academy instructors, who were current or retired police officers.
Status: The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards banned three of the four instructors from teaching; one was required to complete sexual harassment training before returning. No criminal charges reported.
Response: College said it acted immediately, added mixed-gender instructor teams for hands-on training and in-person Title IX training for instructors.
