College staff misconduct · Accused: former tenured social work professor
Three UND officials, including the chair of the social work department, filed complaints with the North Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners alleging that a tenured social work professor used his position to start a romantic relationship with a student, offering her a recommendation letter and job help; he was later reportedly found with the student on campus while on administrative leave.
Status: Accused in licensing-board complaints (he denied the allegations); arrested on campus on charges including criminal trespass; his social work license was suspended for three years in August 2019.
Response: UND suspended him, placed him on administrative leave and issued a no-contact order; he resigned in May 2019.
