Hazing · Pi Delta Psi

An 18-year-old Baruch College pledge died after a blindfolded hazing ritual during a December 2013 fraternity retreat at a rented house in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains.

Status: In 2017 a jury convicted the national fraternity of aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter and other offenses; four former members pleaded guilty to manslaughter as accomplices and hindering apprehension and received prison terms, and another pleaded guilty to hindering and hazing conspiracy.

Response: The national fraternity was banned from operating in Pennsylvania for 10 years.
