Sexual assault · Phi Delta Theta
A former chapter president was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a March 2016 fraternity party; a civil suit alleges the chapter allowed her to be drugged and served alcohol to minors.
Status: Indicted on four sexual assault counts in 2018; those counts were dismissed under a December 2018 plea deal in which he pleaded no contest to felony unlawful restraint and received deferred probation (no jail, no sex-offender registration). Civil negligence suit filed in 2018 against the fraternity, house owner and six chapter officers.
Response: Baylor suspended all Phi Delta Theta chapter activities on March 4, 2016, in coordination with the national office and Title IX Office; the accused was removed from the university.
