College staff misconduct · Accused: former athletic trainer

Years of abuse: 2023-2024

A student who sought treatment through the athletic department after a car accident reported that a university athletic trainer touched her inappropriately during treatment in April 2024; a similar incident had been reported in December 2023.

Status: Pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual battery (two other counts dismissed); sentenced in April 2025 to five years, all suspended, and three years of supervised probation.

Response: He had received a warning after the December 2023 incident; he is no longer employed by the university.
