A Phi Kappa Psi member at Washington and Lee University used a Taser/stun gun on a pledge during a fraternity-sponsored event in 2015; the university president called it 'clear physical abuse.'

Status: University disciplinary action; the incident was reported to prosecutors, and no criminal charges were reported in cited coverage.

Response: President suspended the chapter for three years, overriding the Interfraternity Council's 18-month sanction.
